Breath Prayers

 

Breath Prayers are one way that I help stress and overwhelming emotions pass through, rather than take up residence (for other tools revisit Chapter 23 in my book).

A breath prayer is simply a short prayer that I whisper with each inhale and exhale. Not only am I redirecting my thoughts towards truth, asking for help, and trusting God, I’m also engaging my parasympathetic nervous system and slowing down my sympathetic nervous system with each deep inhalation and exhalation.
